Presentation

A tax lawyer for almost 20 years, I began my career at the CJA firm, a Paris-based practice mainly composed of lawyers trained at FIDAL under Mustapha OUSSEDRAT, who is now the president of KPMG Avocats.

Within this firm, I developed my expertise in corporate taxation as well as in executive taxation and tax litigation for businesses (accounting audits).

I then joined the team at CHESS-Avocats.

During this time, I expanded my skills in wealth taxation (income tax, gift and inheritance taxes, wealth tax), trust taxation, international taxation, and litigation related to individuals (personal tax audit of the taxpayer).

With these complementary experiences, I established my own practice and joined the team at CBR et Associés, with whom I developed an increasing synergy.

Currently, I am a generalist tax lawyer. I design wealth restructuring solutions for individuals and SME executives. I act as a consultant for French and foreign corporate groups and assist individuals and businesses during tax audits.

I have developed specific expertise in interpreting international tax treaties and managing tax domicile transfers abroad.

Skills

What is a tax lawyer?

A tax lawyer is, first and foremost, a lawyer, meaning a legal professional who must adhere to the ethical rules of their profession.

They must be independent. Their primary responsibility is to defend the rights and interests of their client and avoid conflicts of interest.

They are bound to keep all client information confidential.

Their legal studies are validated by the CAPA diploma (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat), the only qualification that allows the practice of law.

This guarantees competence in law and moral integrity.

Tax law is one of the most complex and specialized fields of law. It is often considered autonomous from other areas of law.

A tax lawyer has obtained a degree in tax law and dedicates their entire time to this field. This provides them with the experience and knowledge to have the right reflexes and deliver the most relevant tax analyses.

This guarantees expertise in tax law.

Expertise

I work in tax law serving individuals, businesses, and groups across all economic and professional sectors, both nationally and internationally.

My expertise and skills are recognized in the following areas:

Individual Taxation

  • Restructuring of assets for income tax (IR) and wealth tax (IFI) optimization.
  • Tax management of gifts and inheritances.
  • Legal and tax management of reporting obligations.

  • Management of taxable income: assistance in determining taxable income, and tax management of flows (dividends, interest, royalties).
  • Management of issues related to tax integration.
  • International tax strategy: choice of establishment/localization mode, application of tax treaties, management of international double taxation.

Fees

My fees are calculated based on the time spent.

As a standard, the hourly rate is €400 excluding VAT for businesses and €480 including VAT for individuals.

Exceptionally, and for long-term assignments, I can offer a fixed fee. In this case, the fixed fee is based on a predictable estimate of the time required to complete the assignment. If, unpredictably, the actual time proves significantly higher, additional time may be billed.

Similarly, a success fee may be agreed upon as a complement to time-based or fixed-fee compensation.
